Suitly is a Shopify app that provides AI-powered style recommendations. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when merchants and shoppers use the service.

To generate personalized recommendations, the widget may collect the following information through an optional questionnaire:

Skin tone
Hair color
Age range

This information is provided voluntarily and is used only to generate personalized recommendations.

Products for which recommendations are requested
Interaction with recommendations, such as opens and clicks
Conversion events after a recommendation

Anonymous visitor identifier stored in cookies or local storage
Browser language preferences
Device type for responsive rendering

3. How We Use Information

3.1 Recommendations

Profile data and product attributes are processed to generate compatibility recommendations for the shopper.

3.2 Performance

Reduce repeated API calls

Merchants can access aggregated metrics such as:

Recommendation volume

4. Data Sharing

4.1 AI provider

We use Anthropic's Claude API to generate recommendations. Depending on the request, we may send:

Profile attributes entered in the widget
Product information such as title, description, and image URL

Anthropic processes that data under its own privacy terms.

4.2 Merchants

Merchants can see aggregated app data such as:

Usage totals
Conversion metrics
Collection-level or product-level performance summaries

Merchants cannot view individual shopper profiles through Suitly's admin UI.

4.3 We do not

Sell personal data
Use personal data for third-party advertising
Expose individual shopper profiles to other merchants or shoppers

5. Storage and Retention

5.1 Local storage

Profile answers may remain in the shopper's browser until cleared or reset
Recommendation cache may persist for performance purposes
Anonymous visitor IDs may be retained for conversion tracking

5.2 Server-side retention

Recommendation results may be cached temporarily
Aggregated analytics may be retained for reporting
GDPR request reports may be stored for up to 30 days

5.3 Deletion

Shoppers can clear browser storage to remove local profile data
The widget can reset saved answers

6. Security

We apply reasonable technical measures including:

HTTPS encryption in transit
Secure handling of API credentials
Shopify authentication standards for merchant access
Operational monitoring and error tracking

7. Your Rights

To fulfill access requests, we may generate a temporary report of relevant interactions and retain it for up to 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Suitly is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
